Red Dates: Nature’s Sweet Treat with Powerful Health Benefits

What are red dates?

The red date is a small, sweet, and chewy fruit commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Asian cuisine and cultural rituals. It is often dried and has a wrinkled skin, similar to a small date, but it belongs to the jujube family rather than the date palm family. The red date also known as jujube (Ziziphus jujuba) originates from China, where it has been cultivated for over 4,000 years. It is one of the earliest domesticated fruit trees in Chinese history.
